After a painful journey, but devoid of accident, he happily arrived home on the fifth, and expresses his gratitude for courtesies extended to him by TJ during his short stay in Paris. Sunday 11th. Thermometer at 25 in the Morning—27 at Noon and 27 at Night—Abt. Nine Oclock last Night it began to Snow, and continued to do so, more or less all Night & till about 10 oclock to day when it ceased but did not clear. The ground was covered about 4 Inches deep.
