Tuesday 10th. Mercury at 59 in the Morning—74 at Noon and 72 at Night. In company with Major Washington (who with his wife returned yesterday evening from Fredericksburgh) and Mr. Lear went up to Alexandria to see the Jockey club purse run for (which was won by Mr. Snickers).
