Tuesday 8th. Mercury at 43 in the Morning, 42 at Noon and 38 at Night. In the Night there fell a good deal of rain which about Sun rise changed to hail & sleet wch. prevailed through the day and loaded the Trees with Ice with the weight of which the Evergreen in my Shrubberies were a good deal bowed.
