A detachment to parade tomorrow morning 10 ô clock on the Grand Parade furnished with Six days provisions and forty rounds ⅌ man.
The Troop ’till further orders to beat at nine ô clock the Guards to be on the parade at Ten.
Lieutenant John Meacham of the 3d Massachusetts regiment is appointed Adjutant to the same from the 1st of August last vice Adjutant Burnham.1

1. Samuel Burnham (d. 1782) served as private in the Lexington Alarm in April 1775 before becoming ensign in the Massachusetts militia in 1776. He joined the 3d Massachusetts Regiment as lieutenant in January 1777.
Muster rolls reported Burnham as “sick Absent” in July 1780 and sick at Ipswich, Mass., that August and September (DNA: RG 93, Compiled Service Records of Soldiers who Served in the American Army During the Revolutionary War, 3d Massachusetts Regiment).
John Meacham entered the 3d Massachusetts Regiment as ensign in January 1777 and rose to lieutenant that November. Named adjutant from 1 Aug. 1780, he served until cashiered in December 1782 for being absent without leave.
