George Washington to the Committee of Cooperation
Rockaway Bridge [New Jersey] June 23, 1780. Reports that enemy is marching toward Morristown. Emphasizes need of redoubled efforts by the states. Urges Committee to move from Morristown as it “is become an ineligible place.”
