Parole Jucatan— C. Signs Kildare. Lake-George.
Lieutenant Jonathan Gibson of the 5th Maryland regiment is appointed Pay-Master to the same from the 25th of February last, and Lieutenants Benjamin Garnet and James Gould are appointed, the 1st—Adjutant from the 23rd—and the 2nd Quarter Master from the 20th of September last to said regiment.1

1. Jonathan Gibson (d. 1782), of Queene Anne’s County, Md., served as a private in a “minute company” of militia in February 1776. He joined the 5th Maryland Regiment as an ensign in December 1776, receiving a promotion to second lieutenant in February 1777 and to first lieutenant in January 1778. He became a captain in May 1780 and was wounded at the Battle of Camden in August 1780. After transferring to the 4th Maryland Regiment in January 1781, Gibson was severely wounded at the Battle of Eutaw Springs in September 1781 and died of his wounds the following year.
James Gould (d. 1781), of Queen Anne’s County, Md., joined the 5th Maryland Regiment as an ensign in May 1777 and became a lieutenant in March 1778. He transferred to the 3d Maryland Regiment in January 1781 and was killed at the Battle of Eutaw Springs in September 1781.
