I am favor’d with yours of the 15th which you will find fully answer’d by a letter which I wrote you upon the 14th Inst. by Capt. Huston.1 as the No. Carolina Troops, now serving on Board the Gallies, are exceedingly wanted with their Regts I must insist that they be sent to Camp immediately on their return from below under the care of some officer of Foot, or one of the officers of Light Horse to prevent their stragling.2 I am &c.

1. Meade should have written 14 Mar. for the date of Bradford’s letter to GW and 15 Mar. for the date of GW’s letter to Bradford.
2. In response to this letter, “many” of the troops were returned to camp, and two additional galleys were dismantled in consequence (Bradford to Thomas Wharton, Jr., 16 April, PHarH: Records of Pennsylvania’s Revolutionary Governments, 1775–1790; see also , 1st ser., 6:421).
