9Our guess is based on “dimanche soir.” Cecilia Davies, in her note above of Jan. 30, had declined BF’s invitation to her and her mother and sister to dine with him on Sunday, Feb. 1, but had offered to call with her mother that afternoon. It seems to us unlikely that she and Mme. Brillon would extend an invitation the same evening. A week later is a more plausible date, but any Sunday thereafter is possible; we do not know how long the Davies family remained in Paris.
