3. Dined at the City Tavern & spent the Evening at my lodgings.

Congress appointed a number of committees, including one composed of GW, Philip Schuyler, Silas Deane, Thomas Cushing, and Joseph Hewes, “to bring in an estimate of the money necessary to be raised” (JCC description begins Worthington Chauncey Ford et al., eds.
