Letter not found: to Henry Knox, 15 June 1791. On 19 June GW referred Knox to “My letter of the 15th inst.”1

1William Jackson informed Tobias Lear on 14 June that “The President thinks he may write to the Heads of departments by the next post.” In the letter-book copy of GW’s letter of 19 June to Knox (DLC:GW), Lear noted that “The letter of the 15th instant was not among those put into the hands of T. Lear on the President’s return from his southern tour” (see GW to Knox, 19 June and note 1).
