Current senators whose names Powel did not note were John Gloninger and Richard Peters. At “One O’Clock” on this date, Powel replied to GW: “Your Letter, addressed to the Speaker and Senate of the State of Pennsylvania, being sent to my House, did not come to my Hands ‘till after the Adjourment of the Senate. I will not fail to communicate the Contents to them on Monday Afternoon, the Time to which the Senate is adjourned” (DLC:GW).
