Richmond Octo. 18th 1793

Dear sir

Enclosed I have the Honor to transmit a Voucher for the Expence of forwarding your letter to the Secretary of State as requested in yours of the 11th Instant, being thirteen dollars & one third of a dollar.1 the milage is that which has been established by the Executive of the State, for such Service, & a faithful Express is not to be got lower. I have the Honor to be with the greatest respect your Most Ob. st

1The enclosed voucher has not been identified. GW replied to Carrington on 25 Oct.: “your Letter enclosing the accot of expence incurred in sending an Express to the Secy of State is received; & I now enclose you thirteen Dollars & _, the amot of the accot transmitted by you. I am very much obliged to you for the dispatch & punctuality with which you forwarded my Letters to the Secrey” (Df, DLC:GW).
