To Benjamin Franklin from Guy-Claude, Comte de Sarsfield, 4 April 1778

From Guy-Claude, Comte de Sarsfield

AL: American Philosophical Society

Samedi 4 avril 1778

Addressed: A Monsieur / Monsieur franklin / A Passy

1A good example of Sarsfield’s penchant for entertaining at the first opportunity any visiting American of distinction; see Butterfield, John Adams Diary, II, 381.

2He had lent these works the previous May, and had first inquired in November about getting them back: XXIV, 85–6; XXV, 143.
