§ To Robert Patterson. 19 February 1806, Department of State. “I request that you will permit the Purveyor of public supplies, from time to time, to make use of the machinery of the mint, for impressing the public dies in his hands, in such manner how ever as not inconveniently to obstruct the operations of the mint.”
