I herewith Inclose you the paper which will announce to you, the painful Intelligence of the Death of your constant friend;1 and this part of our countrys benefactor. You would have been apprised earlier but for the Indisposition of Dr. Jackson2 who no doubt would have written to you but for that cause. Very Respectfully your Ob Svt.

1. The newspaper clipping from the Clarksburg Intelligencer, dated 2 Apr. 1825, announced the death of John G. Jackson (DLC: series 7, OV 1).
