Dr Sir,

Enclosed are the last dispatches I have rec’d from Mr Gouvr Morris.1 As they unfold, pretty evidently I think, the disposition of the British Ministry, I wish you to see them—Pray return them to me in the course of this day. Sincerely & Affectly, I am Yrs

1The enclosures almost certainly included Gouverneur Morris’s letters of 18 and 21 Sept. 1790 reporting the failure of his mission to London. No reply from Madison has been found.
