To the Senate

January 21st. 1817

I withdraw the nomination of Joseph H. Hawkins as Surveyor of the Port of New Orleans & also inspector of the Revenue, in the place of Thomas L. Butler resigned. And I nominate William Emerson, for the said Offices.
