[Charleston, South Carolina, August 28, 1794. On September 18, 1794, Tench Coxe wrote to Stevens: “The Secretary of the Treasury has transmitted to me your letter of the 28 Ulto.”2 Letter not found.]

1. Stevens was supervisor of the revenue for South Carolina.
