To Major General Israel Putnam

Head Quarters Camp at
Middle Brook [New Jersey] June 9th. 1777.

Sir,

His Excellency desires you will not open or distribute the Cloathing stopped at your post, ’till a Deputy Cloathier comes up to take Charge of it, who will be with you without Loss of time.

I am Sir   Your most humb servt.
