Mr. de Brantsen, Ministre Plenipotentiaire de LL. HH. pp.8 les Etats Generaúx des Provinces Unies des Pays bas a l’honneúr d’assurér Mr. Franklin de ses tres humbles civilités et de lui envoÿer ci jointe úne lettre dú Professeúr Ingen-Hoúz, qu’il a reçue hier dans son paqúet de Vienne.9 Il lui offre en même temps ses services poúr faire parvenir en sureté la reponse a Mr. d’Ingen-Hoúz.

7Who was introduced by Dumas on Sept. 4, above. Although he had been in Paris since Sept. 10, Brantsen did not present his diplomatic credentials until Nov. 3. He informed BF of his reception at court in a brief letter dated only November, 1782 (APS); the event was also reported in the Gaz. de Leyde, Nov. 15, sup.
