Having the fullest Confidence in the Security you offer for Captain William Hill Sergeant, We herewith enclose a blank Bond for you to fill up, sign and return to us:3 We enclose also a Letter for Captain Sergeant with his Commission and Instructions. We have the Honour to be with great Esteem &c.

2The date as written (and repeated in the copies) is an obvious slip of the pen; this letter is written in answer to Sargeant’s of July 18, and encloses the commissioners’ reply of the 23rd.
