Dear Friend

I wrote you yesterday a Line or two5 enclosing the second of a Set of Bills for £120 Sterling, drawn on Mr. William Anderson, Merchant, London, by Robert Lloyd, of Maryland6 I now send the first of the same Set. On the 27th past I drew on you for £50 Sterling in favour of Benjamin Mecom, which I doubt not will meet with due Honour7 I wish you and yours many happy New Years, being, Dear Friend Yours affectionately

6William Anderson, who dealt with many Maryland merchants, was married to Rebecca, sister of Maryland Receiver General Edward Lloyd. Her cousin Robert Lloyd (1712–1770) of Queen Anne Co. was a burgess and later speaker of the Maryland Assembly. Md. Hist. Mag. VII (1912), 424–5, 427–8.
