I thank you D. S. for the volume you have been so kind as to send me on the gigantic enterprize which will immortalize the govmt of N.Y. by her canal commncns. this will add an 8th wonder to the world, to which I wish all possible success, and to yourself health & happiness with the assurce of my constt frdshp & respect.
