Orders

Winchester: Wednesday, the 7th April, 1756.

Colonel Washington orders a Return to be given in immediately of the number of Recruits in Town; their arms and Clothes.1

After Orders.

A Subaltern and twenty men to parade immediately to march to Joseph Edwards’s. The Officer to see that the Party is provided well with ammunition.

Lieutenant Blagg for this Command: who will receive his Orders from the aid de camp.2

1GW rode into Winchester on the night of 6 April, having left Williamsburg on 1 or 2 April when an express brought word of the Indian raids in Frederick and Hampshire counties.
