I have the honor to request your signature to the accompanying Commissions & Warrants—

They are all old appointments excepting George Grey Grubb, who has been particularly recommended by Mr Leiper of Philaa. & has been sometime an acting Midsm.

George Gray Grubb was an acting midshipman on board the frigate United States from 1800 to 1801. He was officially commissioned by TJ a midshipman on 4 June 1801 and served until 17 Mch. 1804, when he resigned due to illness (NDBW description begins Dudley W. Knox, ed., Naval Documents Related to the United States Wars with the Barbary Powers, Washington, D.C., 1939–44, 6 vols. and Register of Officer Personnel and Ships’ Data, 1801–1807, Washington, D.C., 1945 description ends , Register, 22).
