My Money on Board the Pomona was Cleared in the Court of Admiralty at Hallifax, owing I have every reason to believe to the Letters of Mr Hammond.2 I am sir, your Obedt servt

1. The enclosure from Capt. Boyd Buchanan has not been identified.
2. British minister George Hammond’s letters have not been identified. On 21 May, Hammond notified Secretary of State Edmund Randolph that he would transmit to the lieutenant governor of Nova Scotia a copy of a letter Randolph had written to him earlier that day concerning the Pomona incident, to “obtain information respecting the circumstances of which you complain” (DNA: RG 59, Notes from the British Legation).
