Whitehall [London], September 11th 1793.
Sir John Sinclair presents his respects to General Washington, with Copies of the additional Papers printed by the Board of Agriculture, since he last had the Honor of writing to His Excellency, which he begs may also be communicated to Mr Adams & Mr Jefferson1—He is just setting out for Scotland, but he hopes to have the pleasure of hearing from his friends in America when he returns to London, which will probably be in November.

1. In his letter to GW of 15 June, Sinclair informed GW of the creation of the Board of Agriculture, an institution aimed at promoting scientific farming and internal improvements in Great Britain, and he sent the board’s first publications to GW on 15 August. The items enclosed with this letter have not been identified, but for a list of the agricultural surveys and essays produced by the Board of Agriculture that were in GW’s library, see , 89–95. Although no transmission of the enclosures to John Adams or Thomas Jefferson has been identified, when GW acknowledged this letter on 20 July 1794, he assured Sinclair, “Both Mr Adams and Mr Jefferson had the perusal of the papers which accompanied your note of the 11th of Sept.” (ALS, UkLoBM).
