Treasury Department, December 1, 1793. “… As the Sum in Bank is not more than may be required to answer the Current Demand of Interest on the Registered Debt, I request that a Warrant may issue in favour of John Kean Cashier of the Bank of the United States for the Sum of Twenty four thousand Dollars and for which he should be charged and held accountable.”
