§ From John Mason
10 August 1812, Indian Office. Recommends assistant agent Robert P. Bayly1 for the office of Indian agent at the trading house on Chickasaw Bluffs, left vacant by the death of John B. Treat. Recommends William M. Stewart2 as assistant agent at Fort Madison, to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Asa Payne.
