Richmond Novr. 29th. 90

Dear Sir

My friend Mr. Giles1 will present you this. He is particularly desirous of being known to you. I shoud not presume so far on the degree of your acquaintance with which I have been honord as to introduce any Gentleman to your attention if I did not persuade myself that you will never regret or change any favorable opinion you may form of him. With much respect & esteem I am dear Sir Your obedt.

1. William Branch Giles (1762–1830) took his seat in the House on 7 Dec. (DHFC description begins Linda Grant De Pauw et al., eds., Documentary History of the First Federal Congress of the United States of America (3 vols. to date; Baltimore, 1972—). description ends , III, 618). Giles, a Petersburg lawyer, represented the district previously served by the late Theodorick Bland.
