§ From Matthew Lyon and Others
20 February 1811, Washington. Encloses a resolution of the General Assembly of Kentucky “respecting the extinguishment of the Indian claim to the Territory lying South of River Tennessee, & within the limits of the Southern boundary of Kentucky.”1 Expresses confidence that the executive will make “reasonable exertions” to extinguish the claim.

1. The four members of the Kentucky congressional delegation enclosed a printed copy of a resolution approved by Gov. Charles Scott on 31 Jan. 1811 (1 p.), which stated that the interest of the commonwealth “does imperatively require” the extinguishment of the Indian claim to the territory.
