BF was a frequent guest at the Monday dinners held at Lafayette’s magnificent new home: XXXIX, 520–1n; Louis Gottschalk, Lafayette between the American and the French Revolution (1783–1789) (Chicago, 1950), pp. 14–15. At the APS are similar printed invitations of June 26, 1783 (for Monday, June 30), and of Aug. 28, 1783 (for Saturday, Aug. 30).
