1. The 10 March letter to Knox from William Blount, the governor of the Southwest Territory, and its enclosures have not been identified. GW returned these documents to Knox on 4 April (JPP description begins Dorothy Twohig, ed. The Journal of the Proceedings of the President, 1793–1797. Charlottesville, Va., 1981. description ends , 297).
