*Dec.1 7. 19. I took the bearing accurately of the range of pavilions, & found it magnetically S. 21. W. the variation of the needle being that day 4.° E. of the true N. or to the right. it [is]2 probable that at the operation of July 18. the merid of W’s Mountn was inadvertently considd as the true [N.]

The pavilions here listed as n o ii through IV were later renumbered III, V, and VII, respectively. A necessary is a privy ( ). hotel b was later renamed Hotel C. w’s mountn: Willis’s Mountain.
