3d Dft (DLC: TJ Papers, 95: 16374–5); consists of two pages in TJ’s hand, with an insertion by George Taylor, Jr. (see note 1 below); undated, but written sometime between 18 Dec. 1793, when TJ probably received John Kean’s letter of that date, and 23 Dec. 1793, the date of TJ’s letter to Richard Harrison about this account. 2d Dft (same, 84: 14517); entirely in TJ’s hand; consists of one page with abbreviated debit and credit entries keyed to subjoined references to supporting documents; undated, but written before TJ received Kean’s 18 Dec. 1793 letter, the last entry being incomplete and partially dated “Dec. “; with Dft of postscript of TJ’s 23 Dec. 1793 letter to Harrison on verso. Dft (same, 14518); entirely in TJ’s hand; undated; consists of one page containing preliminary formulations of debit entry of 10 Apr. 1793 and credit entries for 11–12 Apr. 1793 only. The letter from John Kean to TJ of 4 Nov. 1793, recorded in SJL as received from the Bank of the United States on 7 Nov. 1793, has not been found. Kean’s missing Lre. this date—that is, 18 Dec. 1793—is not recorded in SJL.
