Sally Goodman (b. 1812) was the daughter of the Poplar Forest slave Aggy and the granddaughter of Dick and Dinah. Almost two years after his 1815 purchase of Sally from TJ, Jeremiah A. Goodman reconsidered and TJ agreed to cancel the sale. According to a list of Poplar Forest slaves composed sometime late in December 1823 (ViU: Randolph Family Papers), at that time she was still at Poplar Forest (Betts, Farm Book description begins Edwin M. A fifty-five-year-old mulatto woman named Sallie Goodman was listed in the 1870 census for Albemarle County, in which Jeremiah A. Goodman resided at his death in 1857 (DNA: RG 29, CS, 1870, Albemarle Co., Fredericksville Parish).

On this date TJ settled his account with Jeremiah A. Goodman and recorded that after this and other transactions, he owed him $413 plus $200 in final wages (MB description begins James A.
