From Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Allyne Otis, 22 February 1809

Th: Jefferson presents his compliments to mr Otis and observes that, by information just received, he learns that in his nomination of the 21st. inst. after the name of John W. Guion as Military agent in the Southern department of the US. it is necessary to insert ‘in the place of Abraham D. Abrahams’ in order to designate more precisely the extent of his agency. he prays mr Otis to permit the correction to be made at his table by mr Coles his Secretary
