Richmond Janr. 4th. 1798.

Dear Sir,

Mr. Boyce somewhat contrary to my expectation this day took up Mr. Barnes’s draft—I have paid Mr. Walker $103.92. & to an order of Mr. Millers, a part of the sum which you direct to be paid him.

I am Very respectfully Dear Sir Your Mt. Obt. servt.

On 21 Dec. 1797 TJ sent Isaac Miller an order on George Jefferson for $73.62 (MB description begins James A. Bear, Jr., and Lucia C. Stanton, eds., Jefferson’s Memorandum Books: Accounts, with Legal Records and Miscellany, 1767–1826, Princeton, 1997, The Papers of Thomas Jefferson, Second Series description ends , 2:976). Letters from TJ to Miller of 3 Feb. 1794, 10 Sep. 1796, and 21 Dec. 1797, recorded in SJL, have not been found.
