From John Jay to Floridablanca, 19 June 1780

To Floridablanca

[Madrid 19 June 1780]

Mr. Jay presents his respectful Compliments to his Excellency the Count D’Florida Blanca, and takes the Liberty of enclosing a Copy of a Note he has just recieved, respecting a Bill drawn upon him for 333 Dollars.1

From this his Excellency will percieve the painful Situation Mr. Jay is in. He forbears making any Reflections on it, being persuaded that His Excellency’s wisdom and Sensibility render them unnecessary.
