The Committee will have the honor to wait on you this Evening at Six o’clock.1 I am with great respect Sir Your most obt Servant

1. See Conference with a Committee of the United States Senate, 8 Aug. 1789. On the same day GW replied: “If it is convenient to the Comee I shall be ready to meet them at Six ’oclock this afternoon. If tomorrow at half after ten A.M. would be more so to them, they have only to signify it to their Most Obedt Hble Servt” (ALS, sold by Charles Hamilton, Auction no. 133, item 214).
