I send you the letter I have drafted to Mr. Ludlow.1 Be so good as to sign and forward it. Retain carefully the copy on the other side.2 Yrs. with esteem

1Daniel Ludlow, a former Loyalist and a New York City merchant, was one of the founders of the Manhattan Company in 1799. In 1801 he was appointed United States Navy agent at New York City.

2Low endorsed this note: “Alexandr. Hamilton was a letter of which the inclosed is Copy Signed by him dated 27 June 1803 was signed by me on 21 Do & sent to Mr. Ludlow by George Cline on that Day.” Cline was a New York City accountant.
