To Colonel Hugh Hughes

[New Windsor, New York] February 27, 1781. “I thank you for the Trouble you have taken about the Horses.1 Our Journey is postpon’d, but is Still in Contemplation.2 When we do set out I shall be obliged to depend on the Public for Horses, as mine were so low that I do not intend to bring them from above3 ’till near the opening of the Campaign.…”
