Trenton, December 5, 1776. The return is headed “Return of the States of part of two Companeys of artilery Commanded by Col Henery Knox & Capt Drury & Capt Lt Moores of Capt Hamiltons Com.”

1H’s company had been assigned at first to General John Scott’s brigade but was soon transferred to the command of Colonel Henry Knox. This return is for a part of H’s company shortly before H was taken into Washington’s official family. It is in the writing of and signed by Jotham Drury and dated “Trentown Decem’r 5th. 1776.”
