My last to you was by the Mercury, Capt. Robinson,1 in which I promised to remit you by the next Vessel; and accordingly, you have inclosed the first Copy of a Bill of Exchange for One Hundred pounds Sterling, (the second Copy of which I have sent by Capt. Troy Via Dublin) the Exchange as you will see by the Bill 64,2 The Receipt of which you will please to advise me of. This Makes Six Hundred Pounds Sterling, I have remitted you since you left Philadelphia, and I shall continue remitting, as I get the Cash, till near the Time of your leaving England. I am &c.

1. The ship Mercury, Capt. Thomas Robinson, cleared Philadelphia for London before Jan. 12, 1758; it was taken by the French, but then retaken. The snow Hibernia, Capt. John Troy, cleared for Dublin, before January 5. Pa. Gaz., Jan. 5 and 12, 1758; Pa. Jour., May 4, 1758. The record of Hall’s remittances shows that the copies of the bill here mentioned were dated January 6. See above, p. 236.
