I have the honor to lay before you a list of promotions for the Ordnance Department.1

1. On 27 Apr. 1816 JM forwarded the list of six promotions in the Ordnance Department to the Senate (DNA: RG 46, Executive Proceedings, Nominations, 14B–A1). The Senate approved the nominations on 29 Apr. 1816 (Senate Exec. Proceedings, description begins Journal of the Executive Proceedings of the Senate of the United States of America (3 vols.; Washington, 1828). description ends 3:50).
