Sir

Capt. I am Sir your humble Servant

Wm: Franklin

To Timothy Horsefield, Esqr.

[Note numbering follows the Franklin Papers source.]

8It would appear from this letter that William Franklin was acting in a secretarial capacity for the provincial commissioners at this time.

9On Capt. Jacob Arndt (Orndt), commander at Fort Norris, see above, p. 343.

1James Young, commissary general of the musters, inspected Fort Norris June 23, and reported its small arms as: “13 good Muskets, 3 burst Ditto. 16 very bad Ditto.” I Pa. Arch., II, 679.
