Richmond, July 16, 1794. “I must rely on your goodness for a pardon in again writing you on the subject of my Petitions to Congress,2 and urge my situation as a cause of anxiety for a decision.… I cannot but repeat a request, that if any appointment for which I am calculated should offer, either here or elsewhere—that you would give me your assistance, if proper.…”
