From C. W. F. Dumas

The Hague, 10 May 1785. Mr. Koopman, a young man of Utrecht, has consulted him about settling as a planter in Georgia or South Carolina; Dumas has promised in turn to consult TJ on the matter and requests TJ’s advice and an early reply to the questions enclosed. Sends compliments on TJ’s appointment to succeed Franklin and asks TJ’s address.
