From Tench Coxe

Treasury Department, Revenue Office, September 4, 1792. Has learned that “Thomas Davis Freeman Surveyor of the port of Plymouth1 and Inspector of the Revenue for the same has been absent from that port since February last.” Reports that Samuel Johnston, Senator from North Carolina, has recommended John Armistead to replace Freeman.2
