Letter not found: from John Beale Bordley, 31 July 1788. On 17 Aug. GW wrote Bordley : “The letter with which you honord me, dated the 31st ult. . . . came safe to hand.”

The method in which I proceeded on the enquiry, was this: In conversation with farmers, I expressed a wish to be informed of several particulars in rural concerns, that seem to me to have been too little thought of by Husbandmen.
